Hi, I’m Axel Rivera, a cyclist, software developer, and REALTOR^® based in Central Florida. I created this blog to share stories, insights, and resources that help people make confident decisions about where they live and how they live.

I moved to Orlando after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico back in 2017. At first, I rented a small apartment in Downtown Orlando, where I continued working as a software consultant.

In May 2020, after years of a mostly sedentary lifestyle, I started cycling during the height of COVID. By pure luck, my apartment was right next to the Cady Way Trail, which allowed me to ride directly from home. That simple access helped me build a consistent workout routine and showed me how much lifestyle and location can shape daily habits.

When it came time to buy a home in 2024, trail access became a top priority. I found my home in Altamonte Springs, less than a mile from the Seminole Wekiva Trail. Before cycling, I never would have considered living there. The only thing I knew about the area was the Apple Store at the mall. But setting clear priorities helped me think outside the box and find a place that truly fits my lifestyle.

That experience inspired me to pursue real estate. My background in technology keeps me focused on data and detail, while my love for cycling reminds me that where you live shapes how you live. Through this blog, I want to share both perspectives: the analytical side that helps you make smart choices and the lifestyle side that helps you feel at home once you do.
